SMW: This is Africa: How Social Media and Music are Re-defining A Continent

Last night, I was VERY fortunate to attend This is Africa: How Social Media and Music are Re-defining A Continent. This was one of many workshops being held for Social Media Week 2011. This workshop was held at the Red Bull Space in SoHo.

Last evening’s panel, moderated by Ngozi Odita of Society HAE, included Ben Herson of Nomadic Wax, internationally acclaimed emcee Blitz the Ambassador, critically acclaimed photographer Delphine Fawundu-Buford and Larry Ossei-Mensah of My Global Hustle. The evening ended with a beautiful performance by Iyadede. And the always rockin’Ahficionados were on the 1s and 2s. Food was catered by Panla and it was SO GOOD!! Heineken also provided an open bar, so I had all the Red Bull and Cranberry Juice I could stomach. 🙂

The evening was wonderful!!! Not only did I get inspired, but I was able to meet GREAT new people like Teresa Jusino. Make sure you click her name and visit her blog as well all of those mentioned above!! I’m looking forward to the rest of the week’s events!!! I’ll make sure I bring my camera!! 🙂

Stay tuned for updates on other SMW workshops that I attend!!

Hey! You were there too that night! I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it’s been the only Social Media Week I’ve been able to attend. I had my camera that night, but didn’t take many photos… was busy soaking in all the info. Looking forward to the rest of your updates!

Tell me how YOU feel!!
