This past thursday night was the opening reception for Sex Crimes Against Black Girls: A Multimedia Exhibit Exploring Sexual Exploitation Facing Black Girls Throughout the Diaspora: a Multimedia Exhibit Exploring Sexual exploitation Facing Black Girls Throughout the Diaspora. Curated by Shantrelle P. Lewis, the exhibit featured breathtaking work by Nyoka Acevedo, Kimberly Kimabe Becoat, Frances Bradley, Delphine Fawundu-Buford, Numa Perrier, Monique Schubert, Alexandria Smith, Wahala Temi, Noelle Lorraine Williams, and Tracee Worley. They event, also hosted by BedStuy Gateway Business Improvement District and the BSRC economic development, was held at the Skylight Gallery at the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza in BedStuy. What a great success!!! The art was powerful. The people were beautiful. And the food was DELICIOUS!!! Food was catered by Super Wings, home of the BEST wings in Brooklyn, Ali’s Trinidad Roti Shop, and Saraghina. Please make sure you stop by the Skylight Gallery and view the exhibit.
