Dilla Month Day 18 – Do For Love

It’s common knowledge that producers were jackin’ Dilla for his beats. Probably one of the most notable’s is Tupac’s posthumously released Do For Love. Although Soulshock and Karlin are credited with producing the beat, and it contains a sample from Bobby Caldwell’s 1978 hit What You Won’t Do For Love, it is highly suspected that the beat is actually a re-chopping of The Pharcyde’s Y. If you listen to the both beats, you can hear the haunting similarities between beats.

Do you think this was jacked Dilla beat?
